Osprey Ace 38 is a well-equipped youth hiking pack built for weekend treks, campouts, and those first nights on the trail. Typically recommended for ages 8–11, it’s designed to grow with the child and deliver the same dependable comfort you’d expect from Osprey’s adult packs.

The AirSpeed™ suspension features a tensioned mesh backpanel that lets air flow and keeps the back cool. An adjustable torso length dials in the fit as the child grows, while the lightweight frame, padded shoulder straps, and a soft, cushioned hipbelt distribute weight efficiently. With a 38‑liter capacity, it’s intended to carry around 15–20% of the child’s body weight comfortably.

Top-loading access makes packing simple, and a separate bottom zipper lets you reach a sleeping bag without unpacking everything. A roomy stretch “shove-it” front pocket handles quick stows, side pockets hold bottles, and the lid offers extra storage. It’s hydration compatible and comes with an integrated, removable rain cover for wet days. Compression straps and removable sleeping pad straps make it easy to secure extra gear.
