Sweet Protection Ascender MIPS is a lightweight, low-volume helmet for ski touring and mountaineering. It’s made to be worn all day—just as secure on steep ascents as it is on demanding descents.

The advanced hybrid construction combines dual-density EPS and variable elasticity for effective impact protection, while Mips reduces rotational forces in oblique impacts. 108 penetration-resistant ventilation openings deliver impressive airflow as the pace picks up. The helmet features integrated mounts for a headlamp and goggles, a convenient fit-adjustment system, and a pack-friendly design. Weight is about 430 g.

Ascender MIPS is triple-certified to CE EN 1077 Class B, ASTM F2040 and EN 12492—a combination that covers both skiing and climbing. No ear pads are included, so pair it with a thin beanie in cold weather. Chosen as a test winner by Fri Flyt in 2021.
