Product series: Rossignol

Rossignol was founded in 1907 as a textile company. In addition to textile manufacturing, it also manufactured skis. In the 1950s, when the company was bought by Laurent Boix-Vives changed direction and ski manufacturing took over. A breakthrough came at the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley. Rossignol's success has continued since then, and they were among the first to start manufacturing plastic skis. During the 1980s and 1990s, they bought up several other brands in the industry, including binding manufacturer Look.

In 2005, Rossignol was purchased by Quiksilver. In 2008, it was sold to a former manager, Bruno Cercley. Since 2013, the Rossignol Group has been owned by Altor and the Boix-Vives family.

The name Rossignol means nightingale. in French.
