Product series: Buff

Joan Rojas, a textile manufacturer with a past as a trail rider from the 70s, noticed that tough times were ahead for Spanish textile manufacturers and felt the need to renew his business. During his bike rides in the beautiful Catalonia, he and his cycling friends used “Balaclavas” and other strange gadgets to protect themselves from wind and cold. He could see that none of these worked well and started thinking about what could be done about these prickly and often terribly ugly accessories.

Owning a textile factory and knowledge in the field naturally facilitated the development of what would later become a Buff. Joan redesigned machines and shuttles so that the product would be completely seamless. With family, children and friends as test pilots, the first Buff saw the light of day in 1991. In 1992, the first Buff collection was presented and 2 years later exports began to a number of European countries. Today, Buff is sold in around 50 countries and manufacturing now takes place in a new and modern factory outside Barcelona where Joan devotes her time to constantly developing and improving her simple but ingenious product. The range is constantly expanding and Buff is today a world-leading brand in “Multifunctional Headwear”.
